Kindergarten Program

Our program complements the Junior and Senior Kindergarten programs offered at the Denlow Public School. The program is available from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 11:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and includes a hot nutritious lunch. A reputable company that meets all requirements of the Day Nursery Act and Health Promotion and Protection Act caters these meals. Menus are sent home and posted on the parent bulletin board. Our caterer’s are very flexible and accommodating, making special individual dietary needs possible. Mealtime is arranged to promote a relaxing and social atmosphere.

After mealtime, the children wash, follow a full washroom routine and then participate in a 40-minute rest period. Each child is given a labelled cot. Parents are encouraged to send in a blanket and soft cuddly toy to help create a home like environment. Our children have the choice to sleep or watch an age appropriate video.

The Kindergarten program is based on the same philosophy as the Nursery School program with the addition of enrichment projects created to enhance learning through exploration, experimentation, problem solving and group discussions. Individual positive self-esteem and confidence is promoted through small group activities that foster success.
